On 28th August 2024, the Career Guidance Cell of the Faculty of Arts organized an information session on the UK Chevening Scholarship Programme in collaboration with the British High Commission, aiming to provide valuable insights into scholarship opportunities available for staff and students. The event, held from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon at the Seminar Hall of the Faculty of Arts, attracted approximately 125 attendees, demonstrating a strong interest among students and staff in pursuing scholarships for further studies abroad.
Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many stating that the session was highly informative regarding various scholarship opportunities, particularly the Chevening Scholarship. Attendees noted that the insights shared would significantly expedite their application processes, which is essential as they plan their academic futures. The session also included valuable insights into proposal writing, which participants found helpful for preparing effective scholarship applications. Additionally, the introduction of the IELTS app was well-received, providing a practical resource for English language practice crucial for most scholarship applications. An engaging Q&A segment further allowed participants to clarify their doubts and gain more insights, contributing to the session’s overall success.
In conclusion, the information session was timely and relevant, effectively raising awareness among staff and students about scholarship opportunities abroad. The enthusiastic response highlights the need for such initiatives, and we recommend organizing similar sessions in the future to support our faculty and students in their academic pursuits.
