Department of Media Studies conducted the Youth workshop on ‘Gender Orientation and Gender Politics’ with the collaboration of Jaffna Transgender Network on 25th of June 2023 (Sunday) from 09.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m. at Arts Seminar Hall, Faculty of Arts.

The objective of the workshop was to create awareness and understanding among the media students on LGBTQUIA+++ challenges and their rights. The Workshop theme is relevant to the course units ‘Gender and Communication (CMCH 31033) and ‘Conflict Sensitive Journalism’ (CMCH 31053) of the Curriculum of the B.A. (Honours) in Media Studies.

The students of Level III Semester I and Level II Semester II of Media Studies benefitted from the workshop.
