As per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Department of Media Studies, University of Jaffna, the Alcohol and Drugs Information Center (ADIC) launched the Short Film Competition on Alcohol and Drug Awareness at the Faculty of Arts, University of Jaffna on 27th of June 2023.

The Short Film Competition on Alcohol and Drug Awareness is conducted at the University of Jaffna for the third consecutive year.
The event of launching the competition was chaired by Ms.S.Poongulaly, Head, Department of Media Studies and Mr. A. C. Raheem, Senior Programme Officer explained the short film competition. Professor S.Raguram, Dean, Faculty of Arts ceremonially opened the competition as the chief guest and addressed to the students about the contemporary issues and dangers of the consumption of drugs and alcohol. Officials from ADIC, students, and the staff of the Media Studies were also taking part in the event.

The competition has been expanded to the whole Faculty of Arts and the participants will be trained in content formation and technical aspects of filmmaking by the resource persons at the preliminary phase of the competition.
