Mrs. Ajiththa Suganthan

Mrs. Ajiththa Suganthan, Probationary Lecturer in Archaeology, had her primary education at Meesalai Wikkineswara M.V., Chavakachcheri Hindu College, was her secondary school.

She received a BA in Archaeology (1st class) from Jaffna University (UOJ-SL). A Master of Philosophy student at Jaffna University (UOJ-SL). Finished Fulbright- VEGSP Program at University of Arkansas (UARK-USA). Florida State University MCH student (FSU-USA).

From September 2015 to June 2016, worked as an Assistant Lecturer in Archaeology (UOJ). Between August 2016 until November 2018, worked as a Graduate Trainee at Central Cultural Fund (CCF-Jaffna Project). In 2018, she joined as a lecturer in Archaeology, Department of History at the University of Jaffna’s Faculty of Arts.

From 2017 to 2018, she worked as an archaeological artifact recorder with the international archaeology team directed by Professor Robin Conningom of Durham University at the Jaffna fort excavation. Taken part Kantharodai excavation as a representative person from the Jaffna University, collaborated with a foreign archaeological team led by Professor Barbara Helwing of the University of Sydney, Australia, in 2019.

She has now been awarded a Fulbright Masters Award for 2021-2022-United States Cultural Exchange Programs, as well as an Early Career Researcher Fellowship for 2021-South Asian Group for “World Re-writing Archaeology” from Durham University and the British Academy in the United Kingdom.

She completed the GRE computer based and received a score of 334 out of 340. Her TOEFL score is a 100 out of 120.
